Perhaps inspired by a certain very successful vampiric game with a similar name, Karate Survivor is described as a “1980s action melee-focused roguelite”.
In Karate Survivor you can use baseball bats, mops, plates, and anything else you can get your hands on to take out your foes in a variety of diverse locations. Push objects at enemies, pull down scaffolding, and slam combatants with microwave doors because environmental manipulation is key to your survival. But don’t forget about your most powerful weapon: your fists and your feet. With hundreds of different attacks and unique combos to mix into your arsenal, experiment and discover your very own fighting style. The game offers “dynamic melee-focused action, and a fast-paced roguelite structure, making every run in Karate Survivor feel different from the last.”
Karate Survivor’s 1980s martial arts stylings certainly appeal to us at Retro Faith, anyway! We’ll get to see whether or not Karate Survivors hits the target when it’s released on Steam on 30th October. But if you can’t wait that long to get your karate on, a demo is available on Steam now.
