Terrifier: The ARTcade Game slashes onto PC & consoles next year

If you’re not a horror movie fan, then you may not be familiar with the ultra-gory Terrifier series (the third of which is currently disturbing audiences in cinemas across the globe). The Terrifier films are slashers films in which Art the clown terrorises and gorily dismembers the local female population, so basically your typical slasher fare, albeit with some spectacularly over the top gore.

As the more astutute among you may have ascertained by its presence on this site, Terrifier has now spawned a retro-themed video game, which is titled Terrifier: The ARTcade Game.

The game takes the premise (and gore) from the Terrifier films and brings it to a side-scrolling beat ‘em up inspired by the arcade hits of the 1980s and 1990s.

Features promised in the game are:
Gorgeous Pixel Art & Animation that captures the essence of the Terrifier films with bright, cartoonish pixel art and fluid animations that vividly depict the gruesome action.
Multiplayer Mayhem for up to 4 players, who can work together or against each other in various game modes.

Bloody Arsenal of Weapons: From chainsaws to cleavers. You can pick up a variety of weapons to turn your enemies into bloody pulp. Power-ups scattered throughout the stages also give you an extra edge in combat.
Diverse Stages & Boss Battles: Travel through multiple stages, each with different paths to explore and enemies to defeat. At the end of each stage, prepare for intense boss battles that will test your skills.

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game certainly sounds like bloody good fun to us at Retro Faith. The game will be released for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.
