The Legend of Santa makes Christmas come early to Switch

The Legend of Santa is a Christmas-themed platform game that is heavily inspired by the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3, and while it may look so close to that source of inspiration that you may assume it’s a ROM hack, it’s actually a full indie platform game that was originally released on Steam last year.

The plot of the game is suitably festive: in the game, Christmas is mere days away, and while Santa is out on a trial run in his sleigh, the evil South Pole Troll and his army of Penguins invade the North Pole. On the way back to his workshop, Santa is blasted out of the sky by one of his very own North Pole defence cannons. (who knew that Santa was so heavily armed?)  Now he must find his way back home, defeat the Troll, and save Christmas!

Just in in time for this Christmas (actually just before Halloween, to be precise), The Legend of Santa will be getting an official release on a Nintendo console, which feels like it’s the game’s spiritual home. The Legend of Santa will be delivered onto the eshop on 28th October 2024, for the stocking-filler friendly price of just £3.84.
