We’re big fans of Blaze Entertainment’s Evercade retro consoles here at Retro Faith, and we like to keep our system software up to date, so that we can enjoy the Game of the Month every month.

A new Game of the Month is made available to Evercade VS and Evercade EXP (and soon Evercade Alpha) users every month between April and December, simply by updating the console’s system software. Each game remains playable until the Evercade console is updated with the next system software, then all of the previous year’s Game of the Month titles are compiled on the following year’s Indie Heroes cartridge, giving players the opportunity to keep and enjoy them forever.

Last month, we reported that the Game of the Month for September was  Soko Banana, but as you may have noticed, today is the beginning of a new month! And a new month brings a new Evercade Game of the Month.

For the October 2024 Evercade Game of the Month, Flea! 2 has jumped onto Evercade consoles.  As the name suggests, Flea! 2 is the sequel to Flea!,which is a popular neo-retro platformer that was originally developed for the NES, and which appeared on the very first Evercade Indie Heroes cartridge back in 2021.

Flea! 2 itself has already been released on NES, PC and Dreamcast, so it’s great to see it following its predecessor in  jumping over to Evercade.
