We love news about new games for old consoles and another NES game getting ready to launch on your console. Haunted: Halloween ’87 is the final chapter in Retrotainment Games’ Haunted series with two previous entries. The game is similar to those two in that it has been developed to run on original NES hardware and will benefit from ports to modern consoles and PC. It isn’t due for release for another year so those looking to get in early can pre-order on the crowdfunding campaign.

We reviewed the second game on the Switch back in 2019 and only had good things to say about the presentation and quality of the platforming. We expect this third instalment to be just as good and it’s brilliant seeing an indie series run for such a long time. The release of the third game will mark ten years of Haunted: Halloween and we’ll look forward to seeing this game develop over the next year or so.
