Street Fighter invading Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

As big fighting game fans here at Retro Faith, we were already looking forward to the return of the Fatal Fury series with the forthcoming Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, but the latest news on the game has us even more excited about it!

SNK have released footage of Fatal Fury City of the Wolves which shows Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun Li as playable characters in the game, which follows the recent addition of Fatal Fury’s lead character, Terry Bogard, to Capcom’s Street Fighter 6.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves is set for release onto the (fighting) streets in early 2025 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The two Street Fighter characters will be added to the game as post-launch Season 1 DLC. Ken will be added in summer 2025, followed by Chun-Li in winter 2025.

City of the Wolves Producer Yasuyuki Oda had this to say on the crossover of the two fighting franchises: “For decades, SNK has had deep respect for Capcom, in both genuine admiration and a bit of friendly rivalry,” adding, “it’s an honour to bring the universes of Fatal Fury and Street Fighter together once again. This collaboration is a reflection of that bond, and we hope players share our excitement.”

Well, we certainly share their excitement here at Retro Faith! Indeed, we celebrated 1991’s original Fatal Fury game in our ‘five great Neo Geo fighting games’ article.
