Some big news coming out of Revolution Software today as the highly-anticipated remaster of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars is out digitally on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The pre-orders for the physical versions, due to release January 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, are also available.

The original game was released in 1996 and is seen as an adventure game that helped redefine the point-and-click genre. Fans of the original game will already know of its quality and this new Reforged version adds to the mastery with redrawn and reanimated character sprites as well as remastered audio.

For those wanting to experience the original as it was, you can switch between the old and new at a flick of a switch. There is also the option to choose between a ‘traditional mode’ for people who enjoy adventures the way they used to be, and a ‘story mode’ for those who want subtle hints to ensure they never get frustrated.
