The NES indie scene just goes from strength to strength with another new game looking to get a physical cart release. Bloodshed: The Five Clans of Tresibra is an action RPG based on the book of the same name by Spencer Walters. The game is being developed by Guardian Game Studio which is also headed by by Walters.
The game is planned to be released to NES carts and is currently seeking funding from a Kickstarter campaign that runs for the next two months. It promises eight boss battles, sixteen enemey types and five different characters to play as. The project has cited Zelda, StarTropics and Crystalis as inspiration so we have a good idea of how the gameplay will play out.
Prolific retro developer Dale Coop is also on board as a programmer as is Jesse Warrick who is designing the lovely pixel art. It looks to be in good hands with dveleopment, story and art being overseen by an experienced team. The crowdfunding campaign also includes an opportunity to get signed copies of the books the game’s story is based on.
