Yesterday, we reported that Soko Banana, the Evercade Game of the Month for September, is now available to Evercade EXP and Evercade VS users who update to the latest system software. However, Soko Banana isn’t the only treat awaiting in the new Evercade system software.
Three notable new features have also been added to the system. The first is analogue controller support. With PlayStation and N64 titles now making their way to the system, support for analogue controllers will allow the titles to be played as they were originally intended. However, Blaze Entertainment have promised to ensure that all games on Evercade will remain playable with digital controls, and although third-party analogue controllers are now supported, Blaze have no plans to release an official Evercade analogue controller of their own.
Another new control option included in the latest update is turbo fire currently in beta only). This is activated simply by holding down the button you want to use it on. And maybe it’s just us, but isn’tusing turbo fire cheating just a wee bit? Each to their own, though!
The other new feature added in the latest system update is an eject function. While Evercade consoles offer “hot swapping” of cartridges, allowing them to removed when the console is powered on, apparently, some users felt uncomfortable doing so, requesting a dedicated eject function to ensure that it is safe to remove cartridges from the console. Such a function has now been implemented.
Nothing earth-shattering, perhaps, but it’s good to see Blaze Entertainment taking of feedback from their users to ensure that Evercade consoles offer the best possible experience for their users.
