It seems that Blaze Entertainment’s revised Evercade home console, the Evercade VS-R has become somewhat of a victim of its own success, with reports of some pre-orders going unfulfilled.
We previously reported that Blaze Entertainment had delayed the release of their latest handheld Evercade model, the Evercade EXP-R, and at the time, the 30th August release of the Evercade VS-R home console was said to be unaffected. However, in a statement, Blaze Entertainment have acknowledged that “overwhelming initial demand for the Evercade VS-R has been beyond our projections.”
Furthermore, Blaze Entertainment have also found that “in some circumstances the stock has been oversold above agreed and available allocated levels.” As a result of these factors, not all pre-orders for the Evercade VS-R have been able to be fulfilled.
However, there’s good news for would-be Evercaders who are patiently waiting for their consoles, Blaze have said that, “additional stock is on the way to retailers, with even more units in production”. While the delays are sure to be frustrating for those who have pre-ordered the Evercade VS-R, it’s great to see that Blaze Entertainment’s retro console format is selling so well, showing just how strong the retro gaming scene is these days!
