Last week, we reported that Capcom had announced Capcom Fighting Collection 2, a second compilation of some of their best-loved brawlers, which was notable for two things in particular: the first being the inclusion of Power Stone and Power Stone 2, making their first appearances on (non-handheld) home consoles since their original release on Dreamcast nearly a quarter of a century ago.
The other notable thing about the announcement was somewhat less welcome. Namely the lack of an Xbox release, an issue that had also marred the earlier announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. However, as you may have surmised from the headline, it’s time for Xbox-owning fighter fans to rejoice, because Capcom have confirmed that both collections are heading to Xbox One after all!
Capcom have cited “technical discussions” with Microsoft as the reason for the delay in confirming Xbox versions of the collections. As per the previously announced versions of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Xbox One versions will hit the streets sometime next year.
