Fragrant Story and Papaya’s Path, first released to Switch in 2022 by Penguin Pop Games, is getting an update as well as a physical release. The retro-inspired J-RPG boasts over 30 hours of gameplay and classic mechanics alongside modern touches such as full voice acting. The game is a combination of the original Fragrant Story and its 2023 expansion pack Papaya’s Path.

Squire Games is handling the physical release with pre-orders open now with an expected release yet to be determined. The standard physical release includes a CD soundtrack and a digital album. The “big box” special edition offers a vinyl record, as well as a replica cart and instruction booklet, with a Papaya character keychain.

There is also the chance to add a strategy guide to your order featuring over 100 pages of full colour, and loaded with exclusive artwork. This guidebook includes strategies for every battle, and how to unlock everything for 100% completion.
