“The Spectrum” coming this year from Retro Games Ltd.

Retro Games Ltd., who have previously released plug-and-play mini consoles based on machines such as the C64, Amiga 500, Atari 400, and Vic 20, will be releasing a similar product based on the ZX Spectrum.

As revealed on the Smyths Toys website, the next home computer to get the “mini console” treatment from Retro Games Ltd. is none other than Sir Ciive Sinclair’s 8-bit wonder, the ZX Spectrum! It is also available on Amazon.

The Spectrum is set to be released on 22nd November 2024, and its features will include emulation of 48K and 128K models of the ZX Spectrum, a fully working replica keyboard, 48 built-in games including Manic Miner, The Hobbit, and Head Over Heels, multi-region 720 HD output via HDMI, with PAL (50Hz) and NTSC (60Hz) compatibility, the ability to play in original 4:3 or pixel perfect aspect ratios, with or without CRT filters and configurable border size, the ability to load games via a USB flash drive, with multiple file-type compatibility (TAP/TZX/PZX/SZX/Z80/SNA), our USB-A Ports to add additional controllers for multiplayer games, and for a USB flash drive, and a Crash magazine is also included in the box.
