Until they were remade for Switch in 2021, the Famicom Detective Club games were largely forgotten adventure games released in Japan for the Famicom Disk System from 1988 to 1989.

It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes-level skills of deduction to work out that the Switch release of the games must have been a success, as the first new installment in the series for 27 years will launch on Switch on 29th August 2024, with a demo available right now.

The demo of Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is rather generous, giving you the chance to play the prologue and first chapter of the game. You can download the demo from the Nintendo eshop now.
