Atari 7800+ launching later this year

Plaion and Atari have announced that a modern version of Atari’s 1986 7800 console will be released worldwide on 29th November 2024, priced at £99.99. It has been created using modern technology to authentically replicate the original Atari 7800 console.

The Atari 7800+ comes with a wireless gamepad, the CX 78+. It will offer modern quality-of-life features such as HDMI output and USB power, as well as backwards compatibility with original Atari 2600 and 7800 cartridges.

Plaion and Atari will also be releasing two new solus controllers: the CX40+ Wireless Joystick, and the CX78+ Wireless Gamepad. These new peripherals will launch on the same day as the Atari 7800+.

Six separate Atari 7800+ games will also be released on 29th November 2024, complete with new packaging and cartridges. These games are Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest,Asteroids Deluxe, Berzerk, Bounty Bob Strikes Back, Frenzy, and Space Duel.

Four new Atari 2600+ games will also be released on 29th November 2024. These games are Caverns Of Mars, RealSports Collection, Epyx Games, and M-Network Collection.
