Feline frolics seem in vogue on video games these days, with the likes of Stray and Little Kitty Big City finding both critical acclaim and commercial success.

Phoenix-based indie developers Penguin Mug Games are hoping to “cat”-ch the feline zeitgeist with their forthcoming 2D PC platformer Super Puzzled Cat.

In Super Puzzled Cat you’ll use jetpacks, portals, bombs, gum, and more to conquer treacherous platforming stages as you explore a world full of challenges and secrets. You’ll even travel through time and space and reach enlightenment.

The game has been designed to push the boundaries of platforming with save states. It grew from a small proof of concept up to a full game, packed with puzzles and gameplay rooted in that core concept.

While the game won’t be released until January 2025, a demo offering two hours of gameplay is available for you to get your claws into on Steam right now.
