Doom is Blasting its Way Back onto the SNES Next Year

Doom, is, of course, best remembered for its original PC incarnation, but a conversion for the SNES was originally released by Williams in 1995, with Ocean handling the PAL release.

And now, Limited Run Games are releasing a new physical edition of Doom for the SNES.

This new release promises to offer “the definitive Doom SNES experience”, and will include All four Doom episodes, including Thy Flesh Consumed, added circle-strafe, performance improvements, monster respawning on Nightmare difficulty, level codes, and even rumble support via an all-new controller.

The new release of Doom for SNES will be released in 2025 and will be available in a standard edition which includes a retro box, an instruction booklet, a gun metal-coloured cartridge, and a poster, and there will also be a Collector’s Edition, which is limited to just 666 copies, and which will include a premium embossed foil box, a blood-splattered gun metal-coloured cartridge, an instruction booklet, and a poster.
